Andrew’s contemplative training is based on 30 years of study in the comparative philosophies of South and East Asia. This lived experience has been integrated with academic work in the field of transpersonal psychology and consciousness studies. He is involved in several research projects relating to first-person approaches to meditative states, and to the contradiction of teaching non-duality within the achievement society.
His most recent research focuses on how we might find authenticity and meaning within the achievement society and informs his project, The Slow Gaze.
